Can I use my mobile phone to connect to iMonk Mobile?
If you are able to access the internet on your mobile — yes! Your
mobile must be internet-enabled (most modern phones are) and your phone
must have the proper settings to connect to the internet. Depending on
your provider and your location, you may also have to activate or
subscribe to a GPRS/3G data service before you can get connected. If you
cannot connect to the internet, call your mobile network provider to set
this up.
How do I connect to iMonk Mobile?
If you can connect to the internet on your mobile, key this address into your phone's internet browser:
imonk.net/mobile
Your mobile web browser is typically found in the Web,
Services, or WAP section of your mobile's menu. On Nokia
phones, for example, you would enter the address here:
Menu > Web > Go to Address
The address bar usually begins with http://, so when you type in
imonk.net/mobile, the full address looks like this:
http://imonk.net/mobile
Add iMonk to your bookmarks for one-click access in the future.
Why can't my mobile phone connect to iMonk Mobile?
Your phone must have the correct settings in order to connect to the internet. If you cannot connect, you may not have the correct settings entered into your phone, or the settings may need to be activated. Call your mobile network provider and ask what the settings are, or how to activate them.
How much does it cost to connect to iMonk Mobile?
iMonk Mobile is free, but your mobile service or network provider bills you for talktime and/or data transfers. Some companies charge you for the time you spend browsing the internet, while others bill you for the amount of data that you download. These prices vary dramatically from country to country. For example:
In India, Airtel charges Rs. 250/- (U$ 12.00) for an unlimited 24/7 GPRS connection. In South Africa, Vodaphone charges R2.00 (U$ 0.30) per MB of data downloaded via GPRS, EDGE, or 3G/HSDPA. In England, data transfers can cost as much as £1 (U$ 2.00) per MB per day!
Please check how much your service provider charges for using the internet on your mobile before going online.
Why are the links and menu items numbered?
These numbers are keypad shortcuts. Instead of scrolling to the link or menu item, highlighting it, and clicking OK, just press the corresponding number on the keypad to go to the link with just one click. (You don't even have to highlight the link.)
Save time scrolling through the iMonk menus or links using the consistently numbered keypad shortcuts: for example, pressing the "0" key always takes you to the home page.
Note: Some mobiles (like some Nokias) have a built-in key-press delay, so you may have to hold the key down for 2–3 seconds.
How do I bookmark iMonk Mobile on my mobile phone?
You can bookmark the iMonk Mobile web site so that you don't have to
always type in the address whenever you go online. When you connect to the
iMonk Mobile web site, select

from your phone menu. (Bookmarks are also called Favorites.) Now, whenever
you want to connect to iMonk Mobile, just select the "iMonk Mobile" link
from your Bookmarks/Favorites menu.
